Today, University system, education and development are a far cry of what it used to be. Everything wrong has permeated the system. Governments have made University a constituency project. Individuals are now licensed to own University just like you licensed Crèche, Nursery, primary and post-primary institutions. Technological schools and colleges of education are converted to bear the name University and many other things.
The Directorate here now presents a One-Day summit on the subject: University Education Development in Nigeria; the urgent need for International Collaboration. This one day summit is targeted at rethinking the urgent need for International Collaboration via research, scientific and cultural exchange programs as well as scholarship. We affirm that without international cultural and scientific collaboration and linkages, University ceases to be what the name stands for. This is the raison d’être for the summit.
